Marine Conservation Institute’s President, Lance Morgan, has posted the 2012 President’s Report summarizing some of the important work and major accomplishments of this year.

The mission of Marine Conservation Institute is to use the latest science to identify important marine ecosystems around the world, and then advocate for their protection, for us and future generations. We have made major steps to fulfill our mission over the past year through our work to safeguard our nation’s treasured National Marine Sanctuaries, advocate for protection of the Sargasso Sea, protect the unique Marine National Monuments in the Pacific Ocean and the Hawaiian monk seal, and provide the MPAtlas tool to managers and scientists to facilitate advocacy and opportunities for establishing additional MPAs to protect valuable marine ecosystems.
