Today, Marine Conservation Institute, along with many environmental organizations, released their federal budget recommendations for fiscal year 2013. Working with many partners, Marine Conservation developed the recommendations for funding the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

As the US government attempts to restore fiscal responsibility, Marine Conservation Institute and many other marine conservation organizations argue that drastically cutting funds for vital ocean and coastal conservation programs is not the answer to our nation’s financial woes. However, the message isn’t resonating with the lawmakers on Capitol Hill. As we deliver this document to these lawmakers, we hope they will begin to understand the importance of conservation.

Marine Conservation Institute is dedicated to maintaining healthy, living oceans for us and future generations. We hope you will take part and contact your elected officials to stress the importance of restoring and protecting our ocean treasures.
