We are pleased to share our publication ‘The Future of Marine Conservation: Local and Global Perspective’. The report comes from our successful workshop last year at Memorial University of Newfoundland, the meeting was hosted by the Geography Department of MUN, Too Big Too Ignore – Global Partnership for Small-Scale Fisheries Research and Marine Conservation Institute. Presentations and discussions focused on how to advance marine protected area efforts in the Newfoundland region and participants contributed their perspectives on how to bridge local efforts to the global scale issues facing oceans. The workshop featured the Global Ocean Refuge System (GLORES) initiative and participants were encouraged to discuss and provide insights on scientific criteria for ocean refuges. Please see the workshop’s outcomes report.
